Lars and Vera were great hosts and exactly what we needed. We were just going to need a place to sleep for our last night in Europe after 2 weeks... read more of traveling, so we wanted something closer to the airport + inexpensive. We lucked out because even though we were just bunking for the night, we got to see a different part of Amsterdam and enjoyed the peaceful community.

If you’re looking to be close to the city center, this isn’t your place as it’s not walkable but it’s not hard to get to the city. Otherwise the place was clean, comfortable, in a nice neighborhood, and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. Definitely would recommend!

The place was very clean, and the bicycles were a big bonus: the true way to get to know the local life! However, would have loved to have it made more clear that you would live right next to the host, in fact the same apartment, where the airbnb part has been separated from the rest. The walls were very thin, so we heard a lot of noises. The photos of the apartment were also misleading, the river view is not a view from the airbnb. And the layout of the apartment was also quite difficult to understand. The apartment could use a small table, and there was no hand soap available (That may be on us, since we didn’t communicate about it. Lars may have just forgotten). But overall the place was really nice, and we actually liked the fact that it is further from the city center, it was such a peaceful neighborhood!
